Nine US companies, including Broadcom, Verizon and UnitedHealth, have formally objected to having their shares traded on the OKXICE venue. The SEC’s innovation exemption gives issuers thirty days to say no, and an objection blocks that one venue rather than the idea itself. Nasdaq separately opted out of having its own shares tokenized.
Scott Melker’s point is that nobody expected the companies to be the holdouts. The same week, JP Morgan extended its deposit token to Ethereum mainnet.
