All eyes are on Apple (AAPL) as investors eagerly await the company’s highly anticipated event Monday. To discuss the expected product announcements and their potential impact on Apple’s stock, TECHnalysis Research President and Chief Analyst Bob O’Donnell joins Morning Brief.
O’Donnell notes that despite the slew of new products set to be unveiled, the spotlight will be firmly on the iPhone 16 line-up. He observes that in the current era, “a lot of the iPhones look the same,” with the latest versions not intended to be “hugely different” in their design. However, O’Donnell believes the real focus will be on the Apple Intelligence features and how they will enhance the user experience.
“This is all important because Apple has said ‘look if you want to use these new capabilities, you’re gonna either have to have an iPhone 15 from last year or the new iPhone 16,'” he told Yahoo Finance.
As for the potential impact on Apple’s stock, O’Donnell suggests that “everybody knows what’s gonna be happening,” and the market’s reaction is likely already “built-in.” The key question, he says, is whether Apple has “cracked the nut on the ability to make AI useful for a lot of people.”
