Luckily, a lip reader is now spilling the tea on the exchange! Nicola Hickling claimed to The Sun that Trump congratulated Charles on the speech, saying he did a “great job” before replying that “it’s not moved.” The president then shockingly asks out of the blue:
“Are you drunk?”
Whoa! Not exactly the best question to ask a king! But Charles handled it with grace, replying:
“Absolutely. The state visit your hospitality has been truly outstanding. You did wonderfully today.”
Trump thanked the monarch, placing his hand on his shoulder. Wow. According to Nicola, the interaction between him and King Charles seemed “more relaxed and informal” than anything else:
