The Institute for Fiscal Studies said Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves needs to raise the fiscal buffer to almost £50 billion ($67 billion) to have a better-than-even chance of avoiding more tax rises and spending cuts in the coming years. She may need to find as much as £22 billion in her budget just to restore the £9.9 billion margin she had in March. Bloomberg’s Lizzy Burden breaks down the numbers.
