Trump just caved on the ethics fight over the Clarity Act.
The Senate takes its first real vote on the Clarity Act tomorrow, and Trump has conceded about 80% of the ethics limits he spent months resisting, including letting state attorneys general enforce them. Lummis, Boozman and Scott put out 635 pages with 126 changes Democrats asked for. Cloture needs 60 votes and Republicans hold 53.
Scott Melker’s read is that ethics was the thing he expected to kill this bill, and it just stopped being the obstacle.
He also covers Strategy’s STRC buyback, Metaplanet cutting its executive pool 41%, and Revolut handing customer passports to a spoofed government email.
