“It’s every man for himself, where I come from!” A24 has debuted a second trailer for Marty Supreme, the next big Timothée Chalamet movie we get to see following his double power year last year with Dune: Part Two and A Complete Unknown. Marty Supreme is the story of a ping pong master, inspired by the story of Marty Reisman, directed by filmmaker Josh Safdie making his split from his brother Benny after Uncut Gems to now direct his own project. It’s set for release in December right at Christmastime. Marty Mauser, a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness. Eventually becoming the oldest to win while 67. Starring Timothée Chalamet as Marty Mauser, with a cast including Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler Okonma, Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary, filmmaker Abel Ferrara, Sandra Bernhard, and Fran Drescher as Mrs. Mauser, Marty’s mother. This premiered at the 2025 New York Film Festival to mostly rave reviews and everyone is saying Chalamet is going to end up at the Oscars again. Will he go all the way? Marty Mauser (starring Timothée Chalamet), a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness. A hustler-turned-champion ping pong player Marty’s journey from playing for bets in Manhattan to winning 22 major titles and becoming the oldest to win a national racket sport competition at 67. Marty Supreme is directed by American writer / producer / filmmaker Josh Safide, one half of the Safdie Brothers duo, making his first solo film since his feature directorial debut The Pleasure of Being Robbed (2008). With his brother Benny they also directed the films Daddy Longlegs, Heaven Knows What, Lenny Cooke, Good Time, and Uncut Gems previously. The screenplay is written by Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie. Produced by Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, Timothée Chalamet, Anthony Katagas, Josh Safdie. This is premiering at the 2025 New York Film Festival this fall. A24 then debuts Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme film in select US theaters starting on December 25th, 2025, on Christmas Day, later in the year.
