Sen. Marsha Blackburn has won the GOP nomination for governor in Tennessee, according to the Associated Press. Despite being a close ally of President Donald Trump, Blackburn did not secure a formal endorsement from the president.
Blackburn is slated to face-off against Memphis City Councilwoman Jerri Green in November after the Democrat’s victory Thursday night. Tennessee has not elected a Democratic governor in 20 years.
