Why SNX Staking matters for Synthetix

Historically, SNX staking required managing a debt position and collateral ratio. That created friction for passive holders and limited participation. With the new SNX Staking, any SNX holder can now stake directly into the protocol and earn protocol revenue: without the need to mint or manage debt.

With over 50% of SNX supply staked in the SIP-420 Debt pool, we’re moving to phase 2: simple, flexible SNX staking rewards that unlock after the incentivised 12 months.
