Senate Democrats held a marathon session in protest of President Trump’s policies amid the ongoing federal government shutdown.
Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley spoke for more than 22 hours during the session.
Merkley spoke from 6:21 p.m. Tuesday to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, pausing for lengthy questions from other Democratic senators, according to the Associated Press.
