New York Giants co-owner and film producer Steve Tisch has been identified in the U.S. Department of Justice’s latest release of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents, though there is no accusation of criminal conduct against him.
Tisch’s name reportedly appears hundreds of times across the more than three million pages made public under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, with correspondence dating primarily to 2013 showing exchanges between him and the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein regarding introductions to adult women.
In a statement on Friday, Tisch confirmed that he and Epstein exchanged emails but emphasized that his contact was limited.
“We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments,” Tisch said of Epstein in a statement Friday. “I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with,” he said in a statement, via ESPN.
The documents’ disclosure has reignited scrutiny of Epstein’s network of high-profile contacts, but Tisch’s statement underscores that inclusion in the files does not imply wrongdoing.
The NFL has yet to address Tisch’s appearance in the files.
