Reporters repeatedly asked Tommy Pigott, a US State Department spokesman about the humanitarian situation in Gaza and whether the US supported the current situation. Pigott said he “rejected the premise of the question” to several of the questions, including the wording. This comes as US envoy Steve Witkoff explained Thursday that his negotiators left the talks in Doha, Qatar on a potential Gaza ceasefire deal because Hamas did not appear to be serious about a temporary truce with Israel.
