Just like many fans, Rachael Kirkconnell did not see the breakup post from Matt James coming!
In case you missed it, the former Bachelor lead announced via a prayer on Instagram Thursday morning that they are no longer together after four years of dating. And it wasn’t a joint post! It was all him! Check it out (below):
No one expected to wake up to this news! It just came out of nowhere as Matt posted content about their food adventures in London all week — even just hours before dropping this bombshell announcement! She also hasn’t commented on the news yet! So what gives? What happened? Well, fans also raised their eyebrows at his travel posts with Rachael and have come up with some pretty wild theories about what’s going on social media over the past 24 hours.

The main ones? That this isn’t real! They didn’t break up! Instead, Matt got hacked! Hmm. We aren’t too sure about this one. Wouldn’t Rachael or someone close to them have shut down the breakup post by now? Other wishful thinkers also think Matt and Rachael got engaged, and his post was a weird way of marking the end of a chapter in their relationship before starting a new one. If that was the case, talk about being super cruel! Jeez! We get it. You get asked about when you’re putting a ring on her finger every time you post, but don’t play with all of our emotions like that — if this was true. See the reactions (below):

So, was Matt hacked? Are they engaged? Or did they really breakup? Sadly, we do have bad news. It looks like they are over. Rachael basically confirmed it on her IG account! What’s more? She also confirmed that Matt completely “blindsided” her with the split message! Uh oh! Drama! One person speculated in the comments section of Rachael’s birthday post for Matt:
“The more I’m thinking about it, the more I think he completely blindsided her with this. Give her some grace and let her respond in her own time.”
