My rating: Hard
My score: 1 mistake

The final purple group in today’s game is a hidden word puzzle, where vegetables are found at the beginning of other words like CORN in CORNUCOPIA and PEA in PEACOCK. Pretty clever, right?

It took me a while to crack this puzzle, especially the blue group “NERVOUSNESS, IN THE SINGULAR.” I was completely thrown off by the singular form of the words, but hindsight is 20/20, as they say. Lesson learned: always trust your instinct, even if it sounds too simple.

What is NYT Connections?

NYT Connections is a popular word game created by the New York Times. The goal is to find groups of four items that share a common trait, with varying levels of difficulty: green, yellow, blue, and purple. You can make up to four mistakes and don’t necessarily have to solve the final group to complete the puzzle.

Unlike games like Wordle, NYT Connections can be trickier with wordplay and hidden clues. It’s available for free on the NYT Games site for desktop and mobile.
