India are taking on Afghanistan at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala in the first ODI of the three-match series. The Men in Blue will begin as favorites without doubt. However, Shubman Gill and co. must take Afghanistan lightly at their own peril.

Team India will miss the services of Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, who have been ruled out due to injury. Rohit Sharma, however, has been declared fit, so fans will be pleased with that development. The Hitman, however, will need to prove his form and fitness keeping the 2027 ODI World Cup in mind.

In the bowling department, India are without Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Arshdeep Yadav will lead the attack, while young guns like Gurnoor Brar and Prince Yadav have been picked. In Hardik’s absence, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s progress will be followed closely.
