If Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos could do it all over again, he probably would have changed some things up.
During his press conference on Thursday afternoon updating the world about the status of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie‘s missing mother Nancy Guthrie, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office leader admitted that he regretted opening up the Guthrie home and taking down the crime scene tape as early as he did in the investigation.
Seriously.

During the press scrum, when a reporter asked Nanos whether he regretted deciding to pull down the crime scene tape so early on and return the home back to the Guthrie fam, he amazingly conceded:
“Monday Morning quarterback, I probably would have [kept the crime scene tape up for longer] , but I’ll say this: we processed the scene and we got what we thought was complete. My team did that. I have to have all the faith and trust in their abilities, and their skills, and I think they went through that pretty well. But because another agency [the FBI] wants to step in now and assist, we are just like you, we are an open book.”
