US stocks rose Monday morning as Wall Street headed into a holiday-shortened trading week, with investors bracing for fresh economic data amid lingering consumer uncertainty.
The S&P 500 (^GSPC) and Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) gained 0.9%, while the tech-exposed Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) rose roughly 0.8%, after the indexes closed out last week on a sour note and the Dow joined the Nasdaq in correction territory.
