President Biden has announced he will speak from the White House at 7:45 about the recent Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that former presidents have some immunity from prosecution. Trump’s immunity case was decided in a historic 6-3 ruling. Former President Trump’s bid for immunity in a federal criminal case involves his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
The immunity ruling said that former presidents have absolute immunity from prosecution for their officials acts. The outcome means more delays before Trump could face trial by special counsel Jack Smith.
