Après-ski deserves its own whisky, and Johnnie Walker may have just made it: Blue Label Ice Chalet. After all, what tastes better than a warming glass of golden liquor after a long, cold day shredding pow?
Created in collaboration with luxury skiwear brand Perfect Moment and shareholder Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet is the second release in the Diageo-owned brand’s Cobalt series, following last year’s Elusive Umami, which was created with chef Kei Kobayashi. The whisky itself is inspired by “Blue Hour,” the period of time when the sun has slipped significantly below the horizon and the sky takes on a certain almost indigo beauty that makes everything a touch more magical and skiing turns to socializing.
To create the whisky, master blender Emma Walker blended Scotch whisky from Diageo’s northernmost and highest altitude distilleries, including Dalwhinnie, Clynelish, and old stock from Brora. It was predominantly aged in refill American oak, rejuvenated heavily charred casks, and ex-American oak bourbon casks, as well as some wine and sherry casks.

The nose delivers sweet and creamy vanilla aromas, which combine with spiced apples and plums as well as a gentle wood spice. On the palate, apples, berries, and spices combine with soft wood, gentle smoke and rich orchard fruits. The finish is soft and fruity with gentle smoky notes.
Along with the whisky, Johnnie Walker and Perfect Moment will also launch the Ice Chalet capsule ski wear collection. The brand’s signature square bottle comes in a deep blue reversible bottle bag, which doubles as a crossbody bag.

Bottled at 43 percent ABV, Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet arrives with a suggested retail price of $420.
