FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland are both set to appear before the House Judiciary Committee this morning. Lawmakers are investigating the assassination attempt on former President Trump that left one bystander dead. Newly released police body camera footage shows shooter Thomas Crooks on the roof and confirming he was identified as as suspicious person by police before the shooting occurred.
This hearing comes a day after the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheadle, who was blamed by lawmakers on both sides for failures in Trump’s security.
