Binance says its bStocks offering has reached $500 million in assets under management seven weeks after launch, with 41.5% of users entering traditional financial markets for the first time through the tokenised securities product.

The company positions bStocks as an entry point to conventional markets for users already active in crypto.

First-Time Users and Cross-Product Trading

Launched on 11 June, bStocks has expanded from five tokenised securities to more than 46 listings covering US companies and exchange-traded funds. The instruments trade around the clock, and eligible users can convert between bStocks and the corresponding conventional securities.

According to Binance, Gen Z accounts for 44% of bStocks trading activity, making it the product’s largest age group. The company also says 58.5% of holders trade perpetual futures, direct equities or both alongside the tokens.

The figures are internal and do not establish a wider market trend. They do, however, provide an early user-level indication that combining crypto and traditional products on one platform may affect where some crypto-native customers first encounter equities.

That indication is relevant to Binance’s stated plan to connect brokerage, tokenised assets, payments and digital-asset trading in a financial “super app”.

“Tokenised stocks are opening the door to a new generation of investors and with bStocks accounting for 58% of equity-linked volume on Binance outside U.S. market hours, it is clear that users increasingly expect access on their own terms,” said Shunyet Jan, Head of Exchange & Trading at Binance.

Super App Strategy Meets ADGM Framework

Other large platforms are pursuing comparable breadth. Coinbase has described its strategy as building a financial super app and a potential alternative to banking services.

Robinhood has expanded beyond equities into banking, prediction markets and wealth products, while Revolut combines payments, banking, investment and trading services within its app. Binance is pursuing a similar multi-product strategy from a crypto-exchange starting point.

bStocks are issued by BTech Holdings Ltd, an entity registered in Abu Dhabi Global Market, under an FSRA-approved prospectus. Each instrument is backed one-to-one by an underlying US security.

The products are structured as certificates representing financial instruments: holders have an interest in securities held by the issuer rather than direct ownership of the underlying shares.

The ADGM structure differentiates bStocks from Binance’s earlier stock-token product, which the exchange discontinued in 2021. The current instruments are issued as certificates under the ADGM framework.

For Binance, the figures suggest that tokenised equities may serve a broader role than expanding its product menu. They may provide an initial route into traditional investing while keeping users within its multi-asset ecosystem.
