Bayern Munich have signed goalkeepers Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich to one-year contract extensions.

Both Neuer and Ulreich were set to be out of contract at the end of the current campaign, which could still end in a double for Bayern.

Vincent Kompany’s men will lift the Bundesliga title on Saturday when they host Cologne in their final game of the league season. Bayern then face Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin next weekend.

Neuer will lift the Bundesliga title for the 13th time this weekend, having made 597 appearances for Bayern since joining from Schalke in 2011. In that time he has also won five DFB-Pokals and two Champions League titles.

And the 40-year-old will continue for another year at the Allianz Arena, with Ulreich electing to do the same, keeping Bayern well-stocked at goalkeeper, with Germany international Jonas Urbig under contract until 2029.

“I took my time over the decision and am now very happy,” Neuer told Bayern’s official website.

“Everything is just right here: with this team, we can beat anyone; I enjoy going to Sabener Strasse [Bayern’s training ground] every day and I’m performing to the best of my ability.

“In our goalkeeping team, we stick together and try to keep raising the bar, constantly pushing each other and preparing ourselves as well as possible for the games.”

Ulreich, 36, has won nine Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokals and the 2019-20 Champions League since his arrival from Stuttgart in 2015.

“I’m really delighted: I feel great, I’m still really keen on football – and I’ve simply grown to love FC Bayern,” Ulreich said.

“We’ve got a fantastic squad with a brilliant coaching team, and it’s great fun every day, not least within our goalkeeping team. It’s wonderful to see how everything keeps developing, and I’m sure we’ll be in with a chance of achieving everything again next season.”
