Last Wednesday, the actress stepped out in Hollywood to attend the world premiere of her new Netflix series The Residence. For the special occasion, she rocked an edgy shimmering gold plunging dress with a dark fur coat and knee-high boots. She kept her blonde hair loose for a shaggy look.

After strutting her stuff on the carpet, fans on X (Twitter) expressed their deep concerns for her changing appearance, writing:
“Damn. This is just sad. Scrubs star Eliza Coupe, 43, looked unrecognizable in Hollywood on Wednesday night. I see this in Los Angeles all the time. This looks like more than just normal aging and screams drug abuse and malnutrition to me. I don’t know her personally so I can’t say for sure but I really hope she has family and friends who can check in on her because this is deeply concerning.”
“The photos of Eliza Coupe at the Residence premier make me so sad, love Happy Endings, one of the best sitcoms I was so excited to see her in this. Really hope she’s ok.”

To be fair, it’s been a long time since Scrubs! She was on the final two seasons, which ended in 2010. It’s pretty normal for the 43-year-old to look different after so many years! As for any allegations of drug or weight issues, that’s a different story — but Eliza is shutting down any need for concern. Hitting back at the negative comments on Saturday, Eliza shared a video montage of recent photos and videos of herself, captioning it:

FWIW, in February, the performer did get candid about her struggles with food and body image, sharing on the Funny Thing Is podcast:
“I was so broken; I couldn’t get fixed enough for the relationship because I had damaged it with my own s**t. […] Some may call it an eating disorder, I just call it my life.”
She called food her “drug of choice” and said she joined a 12-step food program that required her to weigh every meal for seven years. Noting she’d “over-exercise” and dealt with “a sprinkle of bulimia,” she was “grateful” for the tools she learned in the program. We hope she really is happy and healthy!
