Key Takeaways:

Saudi Arabia will deploy 18,000 NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell chips in a massive AI infrastructure push.A $5 billion investment from HUMAIN will create AI factories powered by NVIDIA tech. The deal positions Saudi Arabia as a future global AI superpower aligned with Vision 2030.

NVIDIA has inked a multi-billion-dollar deal with Saudi Arabia to build sovereign AI infrastructure, marking one of the largest AI investments ever in the Middle East. The partnership will deploy NVIDIA’s cutting-edge Blackwell GPU clusters and Omniverse Cloud systems, aiming to transform the Kingdom into a global AI hub.

Saudi Arabia Bets Big on Sovereign AI Factories

Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in artificial intelligence infrastructure, targeting a build-out of up to 500 megawatts of AI computing capacity using hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GPUs. The move is led by HUMAIN, a Public Investment Fund (PIF)-backed entity tasked with turning the country into a digital powerhouse.

The first phase includes the deployment of 18,000 NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips, the company’s most advanced AI platform to date. These chips are designed for extreme-scale workloads and power AI models like GPT-5 and beyond.

The AI factories will also feature NVIDIA InfiniBand networking to ensure high-throughput performance across distributed computing systems.

“Together with HUMAIN, we are building AI infrastructure for the people and companies of Saudi Arabia to realize the bold vision of the Kingdom,” said NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.

National-Scale Training, Digital Twins & Omniverse

The initiative is more than just hardware. It includes:

The Kingdom’s first NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud, enabling AI training through simulations and digital twins.AI workforce development, with plans to train thousands of scientists, engineers, and developers.Strategic collaboration with the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) to deploy 5,000 additional Blackwell GPUs for government and smart city initiatives.

SDAIA and NVIDIA will also work together to educate local researchers on deploying agentic and physical AI models—AI systems that can act autonomously in real-world environments.

This collaboration shows our dedication to set Saudi Arabia as a worldwide artificial intelligence leader, stated SDAIA President Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi.

Regional AI Race Heats Up

UAE, China, and the U.S. All in the Mix

The Saudi deal with NVIDIA comes amid intensifying AI competition in the Gulf and beyond. The UAE has announced a multilateral AI mega-campus, and Chinese AI chip demand remains high despite U.S. export restrictions.

American technology companies such NVIDIA, AMD, and Palantir are helping this Middle Eastern turn toward artificial intelligence as they all seek long-term expansion in the area.

Especially, Tesla CEO Elon Musk was recently in Saudi Arabia talking about the deployment of Starlink and possible robotaxi networks, which would gain from local AI infrastructure.

NVIDIA’s Middle East agreement, on the other hand, corresponds with relaxed U.S.-China relations, hence increasing market confidence. NVIDIA’s stock surged over 16% this week, helped by both the Saudi announcement and easing chip export rules.

Aramco Digital to Build Robotics Hub on NVIDIA Stack

Another major pillar of the agreement is a partnership between Aramco Digital and NVIDIA to build:

A national-scale AI computing centerAI enterprise platforms and cloud servicesA center of excellence in robotics and engineering using NVIDIA tools and technologies.

Focusing on safety, efficiency, and sustainability using artificial intelligence, the cooperation will strengthen capacity in energy, manufacturing, and logistics.

Saudi Arabia is not only getting sophisticated artificial intelligence capabilities with this enormous cooperation; it is trying to vault into the elite tier of AI countries, hence challenging current players like the United States and China. The stakes are high, but the investment signals that the Kingdom sees AI not as an option—but as the infrastructure of the future.
