Buffalo Bills running back James Cook had the most productive season of his career in 2025-26, rushing for an NFL-best 1,621 yards and 12 touchdowns. But once again, even without QBs like Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson or Joe Burrow in the field, the Bills failed to get out of the AFC Playoffs.
With Buffalo’s first training camp under new head coach Joe Brady set to begin on July 29 in Rochester, Cook talked to NFL writer Bobby Kownack about focusing on 2026-27.
“I won the rushing title, but this is a new year. That doesn’t matter anymore,” Cook said.
“I hear it all the time, and I tell everyone it’s over now. Let’s flip the page and try to do it again.”
After finishing 12-5 and losing to Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round last season, the Bills not only made a coaching change but also a new receiving weapon in D.J. Moore for former MVP-quarterback Josh Allen.
