According to Hugging Face, Reachy Mini will have a version that can be used by connecting to a computer, or a fully independent version with built-in Raspberry Pi 5, battery, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The mini-robot, which is only 28 centimeters tall, will be sent as a disassembled kit when purchased. Equipped with a camera, microphone, and speaker, Reachy Mini’s head and body parts will be able to move. It will also have animations on its antennas.

Hugging Face believes its mini-robot will be an important prototype development platform for those developing AI technologies. The robot’s open-source nature will also facilitate collaboration among developers. Consumers wishing to own a Reachy Mini will need to pay $299 for the computer-tethered version and $449 for the independent version.
