The NFT project Pudgy Penguins has announced the upcoming launch of a virtual card on the crypto debit card app KAST. The team has unveiled a waitlist for users interested in getting the card.

According to tweets announcing the launch, Pudgy Penguins required interested market participants to download the KAST mobile app and complete verification to secure their cards. This requirement also applies to users who have joined the waitlist, as such a move will maintain their Pengu Card eligibility.

Users also have a chance to win a Pengu Black Card if they deposit at least $100 after completing verification in the KAST mobile app. Winners will be chosen at random.

The unveiling of a Pengu Card comes as Pudgy Penguins begin redemptions for its Mystery Boxes. Users can either claim their physical mystery boxes or burn them forever and receive a Soulbound Token (SBT).

Pudgy Penguins launched the mystery boxes in November, exclusively for Black Friday 2025 NFTs. The NFTs were 7,245 and minted at $99.99. The boxes allow collectors to secure the most unique Pudgy Penguin items, including Igloo apparel, Vinyl Collectibles, and unreleased characters with rare traits. Collectors could trade their boxes before physical redemptions began on March 1. Each wallet that minted a mystery box last year is entitled to a commemorative SBT.

Collectors who preferred to burn their boxes received SBTs on March 4, while those who chose to redeem for physical boxes will claim exclusive merch by September 1, 2026. Each box is redeemable 1:1 for either physical goods or an SBT. The team clarified that a collector’s choice is final and cannot be reversed.

Notably, the option to burn a box for an SBT was only available until March 4. This means users who have been unable to do so can only redeem for physical boxes. The redemption for physical boxes will be available until September 1.
