The Premier League served up another Saturday of drama, with 22 goals and five red cards across seven matches.

Leicester City came from two goals down to beat struggling Southampton while ten-man Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Bournemouth.

Tottenham returned to winning ways in convincing fashion and there were impressive wins for Aston Villa, Everton and Brighton.

Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

Three goals in eight second-half minutes ensured Tottenham took the London derby bragging rights as they ran out comfortable winners against West Ham.

Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma, an own goal and the returning Heung-Min Son gave Spurs the victory with a performance manager Ange Postecoglou called “outstanding.”

Mohammed Kudus, who gave the Hammers the lead early in the contest, was sent off late on to compound a miserable afternoon for Julen Lopetegui’s side.

Manchester United 2-1 Brentford

Manager Erik ten Hag remains under pressure at Manchester United but victory over Brentford might just keep him in the job a while longer.

It looked set to be a tough afternoon for United at Old Trafford when Ethan Pinnock struck for Brentford just before the break.

However, Ten Hag’s side manged to turn the game on its head through Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

The win moves United up to 11th in the league, with Brentford in 13th spot.

Fulham 1-3 Aston Villa

Both teams ended the game with ten men as Aston Villa made it their best start to a Premier League campaign after eight games for a quarter of a century.

A frantic first ten minutes saw goals from Raul Jimenez and Morgan Rogers before Villa eventually put Fulham to the sword in the second half through Ollie Watkins and an Issa Diop own goal.

The defeat was Fulham’s first at home this term, while Villa’s win keeps them in fourth, level on points with Arsenal.

Newcastle 0-1 Brighton

Brighton continued their fine start to life under new boss Fabian Hurzeler with an impressive 1-0 victory away at Newcastle.

Danny Welbeck grabbed the only goal of the game ten minutes before the break, but the 33-year-old striker then had to be stretchered off clutching his lower back following a routine aerial challenge with Fabian Schar.

The win moves Brighton up to fifth in the table while Eddie Howe’s Newcastle drop to eight.

Southampton 2-3 Leicester

In arguably the game of the day, Leicester overturned a two goal deficit to snatch all three points at St Mary’s and inflict yet more misery onto strugglers Southampton.

Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo gave the hosts the lead inside half an hour but a second-half goal from Facundo Buonanotte, a Jamie Vardy penalty and a 98th minute winner from Jordan Ayew gave the visitors the win.

Ryan Fraser was dismissed for Southampton with 15 minutes of the match remaining.

Ipswich Town 0-2 Everton

Everton secured an important three points against newly-promoted Ipswich courtesy of first-half goals from Iliman Ndiaye and Michael Keane.

Ipswich had a penalty decision overturned by VAR with the game poised at 1-0 before Keane doubled the Toffees’ lead with a thunderous left-footed strike.

The win moves Everton five points above the drop zone.

Bournemouth 2-0 Arsenal

Bournemouth beat Arsenal for only the second time ever in the Premier League as they ended the Gunners’ unbeaten start to the season.

William Saliba was dismissed mid-way through the first half as Mikel Arteta had to contend with being a player down for the third time in eight games.

Bournemouth eventually made the numerical advantage pay, with goals from substitutes Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert coming after Gabriel Martinelli squandered a glorious chance to give the visitors the lead.

In the battle of the Basque Country managers, it was Andoni Iraola who came out on top to record a famous victory at the Vitality Stadium.

Conclusion:

Another action-packed weekend of Premier League football has left fans on the edge of their seats with unexpected results, thrilling comebacks, and stunning goals. The drama continues to unfold as teams fight for glory on the pitch.
