Officials in Indiana announced Wednesday that a suspect in a decade-long serial rape case has been arrested. Leonel Catalan-Torreblanca faces 30 charges, Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears said during a news conference.
In a post on X, FBI Director Kash Patel said:
“An illegal alien has been charged in connection to 5 sexual assaults over an 11-year span.
30 charges have been filed over incidents that occurred from
2013-2024.
Incredible work out of @FBIIndianapolis – our FBI teams and partners used advanced DNA technology and our Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) to charge the suspect.”
