Paul Reiser & Colm Meaney in Funny ‘The Problem With People’ Trailer

by Alex Billington August 5, 2024 Source: YouTube

“Sneaky bastard.” Let ’em at it! Quiver Distribution has revealed the official US trailer for a comedy from Ireland called The Problem With People, which is a clever title for nowadays because almost everyone is thinking about the many problems with people. This premiered at a few film festivals in late 2023 and will open right away on VOD in the US starting in October this fall. Two distant cousins who’ve never met – one living in NYC, the other in the smallest town there is in Ireland – come together in Ireland to finally put an end to a generations-long family feud. It doesn’t go well… The Problem With People, set in beautifully lush Irish countryside, is a heartwarming comedy about family, world peace… and sheep. 🐑 Colm Meaney and Paul Reiser (who also co-wrote & produced) star, along with Jane Levy, Lucianne McEvoy, and Des Keogh. Reviews say the film “ecomes a lovely trip to the Irish countryside, filled with great laughs, some bickering, and a lot of love.” Looks like there’s a few good jokes in this that’ll get a laugh out of some of you.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Chris Cottam’s film The Problem With People, from YouTube:

The Problem With People Poster?

Honoring his father’s last wish to reunite with the American side of his family, Irishman Ciáran calls his cousin, Barry, out of the blue with the offer for him to visit his homeland. Barry, keen to escape from the daily grind of his New York real estate firm, agrees to make the long trip over. However, after an initially warm welcome, tensions soon boil over when it’s discovered that Barry has unexpectedly been left half the money in Ciáran’s father’s will. With the two men now torn apart by greed & jealousy, resulting in a feud that spirals into a series of pretty squabbles and disastrous hijinks, will they ever be able to give peace a chance again? The Problem With People is directed by Irish filmmaker Chris Cottam, director of the films The Lives of the Saints, Rich Hall’s Red Menace, and A Christmas Number One previously, plus many short films, TV work, and other projects. The screenplay is written by Paul Reiser and Wally Marzano-Lesnevich. Produced by Max Brady, Chris Cottam, Paul Reiser. This premiered at the 2023 DTLA Film Fest last year. Quiver debuts The Problem With People in select theaters + on VOD starting October 4th, 2024 this fall.
