WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place in Indiana, and the company, hours before the premium live event, officially announced a major change to one of the matches on the card.

Earlier this month, Sol Ruca joined WWE’s main roster and became a member of Monday Night RAW. However, she hasn’t won a singles match on the red brand, and Becky Lynch did interfere during her contract signing segment, which ended poorly for The Man. Later, Lynch agreed to share the spotlight with Ruca but wasn’t willing to put her title on the line.

Despite Big Time Beck’s rejecting Ruca’s challenge, the company’s official Instagram account advertised the bout as a title match between the two stars for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. While Becky Lynch denied that the upcoming bout is a title match, the company finally cleared the air hours before the premium live event.

According to the company’s official website, the match between Becky Lynch and Sol Ruca will be a non-title match. The description further hints that Ruca could earn a title match if she defeats The Man at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Indiana.

A previous report also suggested that the match would not involve the title, and WWE finally confirmed it before the show. It’ll be interesting to see whether Sol Ruca is able to defeat Becky Lynch and earn a future title shot.

Last year, John Cena wanted to give a platform to the superstars of tomorrow, and The Franchise Player was able to do so on the final night of his career as a performer. Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., also featured superstars from the developmental brand against WWE’s main roster stars.

On the show, Sol Ruca defeated Bayley in a singles match. This marks Ruca’s only win on the main roster. Last month, Ruca competed on Monday Night RAW and lost to Liv Morgan. Later, she faced IYO SKY in a singles match and lost the bout.

The former NXT Women’s North American Champion is looking to prove herself and change her momentum on the main roster when she faces Becky Lynch at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Indiana.
