LiveNOW’s Andy Mac brings rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) into the conversation as she shares her perspective about the ongoing Federal Government shutdown and SNAP benefits.
In a social media post, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster says, “With federal SNAP benefits being halted on Nov. 1 due to the federal government shutdown, I have activated the Central Carolina Community Foundation’s One SC Fund charity and directed the SC State Guard to assist food banks statewide to ensure these sites remain safe and orderly as demand increases.” Mace is expected to join the race for 2026 Governor and she says she supports Governor McMaster’s plan for SNAP benefits, however, Mace says “I think we can even do more right now.”
