Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that the man detained Friday night and later released in in connection with the Nancy Guthrie case was “our person of interest,” Fox News reports.
Nanos also said no were arrests were made and Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of ‘TODAY’ show anchor Savannah Guthrie, remains missing. She vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1.
The FBI and other law enforcement also conducted a search of a Range Rover in a parking lot near Guthrie’s neighborhood. The man who had been detained is believed to be the owner of the vehicle.
There are no official press updates scheduled as of Saturday evening.
