James Kennedy is ready to focus on his sobriety.
Days after his alleged domestic violence incident, the Vanderpump Rules alum took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday to say:
“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life. I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones. Navigating challenging moments is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow, and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”
Wow.
Of course, this comes days after James was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery upon spouse/co-habitant. That occurred after he attended Kathy Hilton’s holiday party and allegedly caused “a huge scene” while acting “erratic” and “inebriated.” A neighbor reportedly called the cops on him and Ally Lewber last Tuesday as they were fighting. According to an arrest log from the Burbank Police Department, the situation escalated when he allegedly “lifted her up and threw her to the ground.” Awful.

James has struggled with substance abuse in the past, too. But now, it sounds like he really plans to work on his sobriety. Whether that means seeking outside help while doing so is unknown at this point. Also, it is up in the air whether his “support system” includes Ally. She is taking much-needed time away from James to figure out her next steps.
