Tufts University’s Dr. Alon Burstein joins LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall to discuss the latest developments in the Israel-Hamas war, including reaction from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about Hamas’s response to President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan.
Netanyahu’s office released a statement, saying:
“In light of Hamas’s response, Israel is preparing for the immediate implementation of the first stage of President Trump’s plan for the prompt release of all the hostages.
We will continue to work in full cooperation with the President and his team to bring the war to an end in accordance with the principles set out by Israel, which are aligned with President Trump’s vision.”
Hamas said Friday that it has accepted some elements of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip, including giving up power and releasing all remaining hostages, but that others require further consultations among Palestinians.
Trump’s peace plan has been accepted by Israel and was welcomed internationally after it was unveiled alongside Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this week.
