According to a WalletHub survey, 57% of Gen Z respondents believe savings accounts are the best for investing. Empify CEO Ashley Fox tells Yahoo Finance that sometimes isn’t enough for the future, and younger investors should be investing in the stock market via a brokerage account, among other strategies: “And if we think about the school system, we’re not taught how to invest. We’re not taught how to manage our money, we’re not taught how to understand credit cards. So we’re good at taking out debt, we’re good at shopping, we’re good at creating content — but what about investing and building that wealth so that we can create passive income? What about dividend investing? What about growth stock investing so that that money, while we’re working for it, it can also work for us while we are sleeping.”
