Hurricane Beryl officially made landfall near Matagorda, Texas on Monday morning around 5:00 A.M. Eastern Time. The National Hurricane Center said the area is Texas coast is being hit with dangerous storm surge and strong winds with flash flooding expected.
The Hurricane struck Texas as a Category 1 hurricane with wind gusts over 80 mph. Beryl continues to move inland with damaging wind gusts and the threat of tornadoes.
More then 90,000 people in Texas have lost power due to the storm. Storm surge is forecasted to reach about 3-7 feet in the area.
