Former Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax, once seen as a rising force in Democratic politics, is now at the center of a devastating tragedy that has left a family shattered and a community in shock.

One accused Fairfax of forcing her to perform oral sex during the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, while a second alleged he raped her when they were both students at Duke University in 2000.
Fairfax denied the allegations, insisting the encounters were consensual, and resisted mounting pressure to step down. Still, the damage to his reputation was significant, and his political career never fully recovered.
