Bar Graphic Machinery (BGM) has introduced a series of finishing equipment for companies producing digitally printed labels, according to a press release posted on WhatTheyThink.
The new models, Compact and Compact Pro, were designed by BGM’s engineering team with input from managing director Adam James.
Both are built on a heavy-duty frame with a compact footprint. The Compact measures 2.5m in length, while the Compact Pro is 3.5m long.
Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, BGM said the Compact range expands its product portfolio rather than replacing any existing machine in its line-up.
The two models operate at speeds of up to 100m/min and handle a web width of 370mm.
They include overlamination options, either self-wound with backing or wet lamination, as well as a flexo unit for 360mm-wide rotary flood varnish.
Other functions include 360mm-wide semi-rotary die-cutting, crush or razor slitting, matrix waste stripping and removal, dual rewind, and the option of a corona treatment unit or extra slitting systems.
James said: “The digital label printing market continues to grow strongly. To support this growth and allow label printers to take advantage of the opportunities, finishing must grow with the market.”
The machines are intended for finishing labels produced using inkjet, toner, or HP Indigo’s Liquid Electrophotography (LEP) process.
The Compact Pro version also features a second flexo station for light embellishment work and applications including spot varnish or cold foil.
BGM is providing a 36-month warranty on parts made by the company.
The Compact range was presented to the market at an open house event held earlier this month at BGM’s headquarters and manufacturing site in Bradford.
Franck Vitali, the technical manager of GIC, a distribution partner for BGM in several French-speaking territories, said: “It is always a pleasure to share these moments and to see how BGM is moving forward and constantly reinventing itself to offer new products. These new products will enable us to offer customers machines that combine robustness and productivity.”
Last year, BGM was acquired by Duplo.
“BGM introduces Compact label finishing line” was originally created and published by Packaging Gateway, a GlobalData owned brand.
