YZi Labs said its investment in the payments company aligns with its thesis of backing the next generation of global financial infrastructure. The firm’s investment in Better Payment Network comes just a week after the CZ-linked family office launched a $1 billion fund to back founders on the BNB Chain ecosystem.

According to the blog post on the BNP website, its platform is trying to address one of the biggest challenges facing traditional fintech companies. Their platforms rely on capital-intensive pre-funding models, forcing trillions of dollars to sit idle in local accounts just to maintain payment liquidity.

“BPN’s CeDeFi dual-rail system solves this by enabling real-time stablecoin minting, swapping, and burning across jurisdictions, thus freeing up that locked capital,” BNB wrote. The company “aims to deliver instant, low-cost, and compliant cross-border settlements that complete in 3-4 hours instead of 1-2 days, at an average cost of 30 bps versus roughly 2% through conventional FX channels.”

Commenting on the announcement, Dana H., Investment Partner at YZi Labs, said in a statement: “As an investor, I believe Better Payment Network (BPN) is a true game-changer for cross-border payments, delivering instant settlement with significant cost savings and rapid processing.”
