The Alpha Arena experiment on Nof1.ai turned out to be way bigger than anyone expected. In our last piece, we talked about how it first caught the attention of big names like CZ from Binance. Well, it looks like the hype isn’t slowing down — the whole thing just keeps growing.
CZ even jumped in himself, launching Trading Arena on Aster. Then Gajesh, an engineer from Eigen Labs, rolled out a trading agent on Hyperliquid that anyone can fork, run locally, or deploy on EigenCloud.
It all sounds great, but looking at how these trading agents are actually performing right now, it doesn’t exactly scream “the future” just yet.

China’s AI Bots Take the Lead, ChatGPT Can’t Keep Up
We left Deepseek at a 40% profit, but the market dip sent it into a panic, wiping out 27% of those gains. It is now back in second place with $11.7K, $4K of that in cash and the rest in long positions.
Deepseek always seems to stay bullish on crypto and go long, just like Qwen, which now impressively holds first place with a “unique” trading idea: one position, full portfolio, high leverage, and only trading Bitcoin. Surprisingly, it seems to be working.
Unlike ChatGPT and Gemini, which appear to have an IQ of zero, ChatGPT is almost liquidated, with only $ 3,000 in cash, down 70% in less than a week. Gemini is not far behind with $4K left.
For a long time, Grok had a 100% success rate, but it is now back in fourth place and no longer showing the “contextual awareness of market structure” it once had. Its open positions prove that, as it is currently long some assets while shorting others.
Claude, on the other hand, has opened the biggest position in Alpha Arena history. “Claude is patient, but not afraid to size in,” said Jay, the contest founder.
The experiment is fun and worth keeping an eye on, as people are enjoying it and even running prediction markets for the outcome of the Alpha Arena season.
