Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced major price cuts across its portfolio, fully passing on the benefits of the recent GST rate reduction to customers. The move comes just ahead of the festive season, making several popular Toyota models significantly more affordable.

In the mid-range segment, Toyota’s popular SUVs and MPVs have seen substantial revisions. The Innova Crysta is now cheaper by up to Rs 1.80 lakh, the Innova Hycross by up to Rs 1.15 lakh, and the compact SUV Taisor by up to Rs 1.11 lakh.

Entry-level models see relief too

For budget-conscious buyers, Toyota’s hatchback Glanza will now be available with a reduction of up to Rs 85,300, while the Rumion MPV gets a price drop of up to Rs 48,700. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder, a strong player in the hybrid SUV market, has seen a reduction of up to Rs 65,400.

Toyota has urged customers to confirm the revised pricing at their nearest dealerships, as benefits may vary by variant and location. The company has also advised early bookings to ensure festive season deliveries.

The Hilux lifestyle pickup has received a reduction of up to Rs 2.52 lakh, while luxury models like the Vellfire and Camry are down by up to Rs 2.78 lakh and Rs 1.01 lakh, respectively.

With these price cuts, Toyota expects stronger demand across all segments, particularly for the Fortuner, Innova, and Hyryder, which already enjoy strong customer interest in India.

Potential price reductions on Toyota vehicles are as follows:

Glanza: up to Rs 85,300
Taisor: up to Rs 1.11 lakh
Rumion: up to Rs 48,700
Hyryder: up to Rs 65,400

Legender: up to Rs 3.34 lakh
Hilux: up to Rs 2.52 lakh

Classic Legends follows with cuts on Jawa, Yezdi

GST 2.0 reshapes car taxation, EVs remain at 5%

Under the new GST 2.0 framework, all internal combustion engine (ICE) cars will now fall under either the 18 per cent or 40 per cent tax slab.

Smaller vehicles such as hatchbacks, compact sedans, and compact SUVs are placed in the 18 per cent category, while mid-size, larger, and luxury models will attract a higher 40 per cent levy. Earlier, ICE cars were charged 28 per cent GST along with an additional compensation cess of 1 per cent to 22 per cent, depending on engine size and vehicle length.

For electric vehicles, the GST rate remains unchanged at 5 per cent, while hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs) have been brought down from 12 per cent to 5 per cent.
