The suspect in the shootings of Minnesota lawmakers made his first court appearance Monday. Vance Boelter faces federal charges, including murder and stalking. He is accused of fatally shooting Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, and injuring Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.
In a press conference, Joseph Thompson, acting U.S. attorney for the District of Minnesota, said Boelter “stalked his victims like prey.”
Boelter’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 27th. He will be held in custody until then.
