President Donald Trump and Elon Musk say they want to ‘shut down’ USAID. Staffers at the U.S. Agency for International Development were told to stay out of the agency’s Washington headquarters on Monday morning.
Billionaire Elon Musk revealed President Trump agreed with the move to work to shut down USAID during a live session on X Spaces. “It became apparent that its not an apple with a worm it in…What we have is just a ball of worms. You’ve got to basically get rid of the whole thing. It’s beyond repair,” Musk said.
USAID workers say they tracked more than 600 employees who reported being locked out of the agency’s computer system overnight.
