Dan Hooker has a tough fight coming up next as he faces the highly-rated French star Salahdine Parnasse.

The 28-year-old Parnasse is one of the hottest prospects in the MMA world, and he makes his UFC debut in the main event of the Paris card in September.

Hooker is a tough nut to crack, but he’s been getting all sorts of threats from the French fans. ‘The Hangman’ on Submission Radio brought up the threats, and added that he didn’t get these when he faced another Frenchman, Benoit Saint Denis:

“The death threats have been outrageous. I didn’t get it when I fought BSD.”

When asked about what the threats have been, Hooker added some more details:

“Just the French people like speaking French and f****** telling me that I am going to die. They are going to kill me and s***.

He also claimed that Parnasse’s fans are on another level compared to Saint Denis’

“I think maybe BSD is like, cause he is obviously French as well. I feel like he’s such a respectful guy, the people that follow him or support him are complete f****** c****, but whoever this c**** fans are are outrageous.”

Dan Hooker looking to make a statement in Paris

Salahdine Parnasse’s last fight was an impressive win over Kenneth Cross at MVP MMA 1, and many expect him to put on a performance in his UFC debut.

However, Hooker is aiming to play spoilsport in Paris. The Kiwi, in the same interview, planned to make an example out of Parnasse:

“It’s going to feel pretty sweet to shut this kid’s lights out, making these guys eat their words.”

Hooker also didn’t think the UFC planned to set him up against a tough opponent, but admitted that he was “dumb” enough to take on the fight:

“I don’t feel like the UFC has got it out for me. I feel like they just kind of brought me this fight because I am the only one dumb enough to fight a kid that’s unranked.”

However, the Kiwi claimed this was a “win-win” situation for the UFC. He added that if Parnasse won, the UFC would have a great star on their hands, but if he won, this could be the start of a winning streak.
