Keanu Reeves has built quite a movie career. Whether you think of him as John Wick or the cop in Speed, there’s a lot to choose from when ranking his best movies.
So it might surprise you to learn that, onRotten Tomatoes’ list of Reeves best movies, the top-ranked choice is a cartoon few people remember he was part of: Toy Story 4. “Heartwarming, funny, and beautifully animated, Toy Story 4 manages the unlikely feat of extending — and perhaps concluding — a practically perfect animated saga,” Rotten Tomatoes wrote. The movie has a 97% positive ranking on Rotten Tomatoes.
What’s number 2? Speed, which has a 95% positive rating and co-starred Sandra Bullock. The characters try to control a runaway bus. John Wick: Chapter 4 comes in at number 3. Parenthood is fourth, and Much Ado About Nothing clocks in at number 5.
Other movie lists choose movies more clearly defined as Keanu Reeves’ movies for the number one spot (list later in the article.) In fact, multiple other lists have settled on The Matrix as Reeves’ best movie, although there is not a unanimous consensus.
Keanu Reeves Voiced the Character of Duke Caboom in ‘Toy Story 4’
Many people don’t remember that Reeves was in Toy Story 4, but he voiced the role of Canadian stuntman Duke Caboom in the movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, to cast Caboom, director Josh Cooley and producers Jonas Rivera and Mark Nielsen “did a blind audio test. The casting department played audio recordings of line readings from actors, all Canadian, for the filmmakers, who didn’t know which voice belonged to which actors.”
“With the first one we said, ‘Wait, stop! Who is that?’ And it was Keanu,” Cooley recalled to THR. Even though it was an animated character, THR reported that Reeves helped develop the character and “came up with the idea for Caboom’s signature compulsion for posing.”
“I sat with him during a preview and I had just seen John Wick 3. I was thinking that I don’t want to upset or he will stab me with a fork or something,” Tim Allen joked to THR about Reeves’ Toy Story 4 role.

Duke Caboom “is a toy straight out of the 1970s,” according Disney News. Evel Knievel’s family accused Disney of basing the character on him, but the suit was thrown out, BBC reported.
Other Movie Lists Choose Different Keanu Reeves’ Movies for the Number 1 Spot
Of course, Toy Story 4 isn’t really known as a Keanu Reeves’ film. So what do other movie lists say about the best Reeves’ movie?
IMDb lists TheMatrix in the number one spot. John Wick: Chapter 4 places second. Yahoo Movies UKalso chooses The Matrix.The Matrix placed number one on a Gamespot fan forum.Collider also chose The Matrix.
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure took number one on a different list by Cinema Parrot Disco.
But Metacriticalso lists Toy Story 4.
GQ ranked dozens of Keanu Reeves movies and decided that My Private Idaho was his best movie.
