US stocks diverged on Monday as investors welcomed easing oil prices and growing optimism that tensions between Washington and Tehran could cool in the coming days.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) fell 0.3%, while the S&P 500 (^GSPC) rose 0.5% after regular trading was paused on Monday for the Memorial Day holiday.
