His wife Erika Kirk has been in the news for taking over Turning Point USA, the grassroots political organization started by Kirk in Arizona in 2012. Charlie Kirk was known for debating on college campuses, and he was visiting a college campus when he was killed allegedly by a Mauser rifle with 30-06 ammo at Utah Valley university. Vice President JD Vance hosted Kirk’s show shortly after his murder. Conservative activist Candace Owens has also made high profile statements about their friendship and the passing of her friend.
Tyler Robinson, the Utah man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk is making his first court appearances as his murder trial begins. Robinson, 22, is charged with aggravated murder stemming from the September 10th shooting of Charlie Kirk during a Turning Point USA event on the Utah Valley University campus in Orem, Utah. Prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty.
This is a high profile trial, with the murder of a well known person, and the judge has discussed ways to limit exposure and protect privacy.
Robinson has arrived at the Provo courthouse. His father and brother were seated in the front row as the members of the Robinson family that were there.
