Users can join the virtual world through a web browser using an email address. Otherdeed NFTs were once needed for entry, but that is no longer the case.

As the central hub and initial landing site for Voyagers, Nexus connects realms and biomes through a large network of portals. Yuga Labs’ management team revealed that Soma, the creation energy that Blue bottled up in the Otherside B.C. trailer, illuminates the hub. However, chaotic energy has messed up The Otherside, so the Nexus has become an environment built on top of a Chaos Otherdeed.

This exciting approach and initiative are designed to keep players hooked and engaged. With a persistent gaming experience, Yuga Labs aims to onboard new players. They will participate in a cinematic storytelling experience that introduces them to the world of The Otherside, Apes, Kodas, and Voyagers. 

It is worth mentioning that Yuga Labs partnered with the multinational technology company Amazon ahead of its official launch of The Otherside. The duo launched an exclusive NFT collection named Boximus. The Boximus avatars, which grant players in-game access in the metaverse, were sold out soon after their release. The collaboration expanded Yuga Labs’ reach, allowing The Otherside to tap into Amazon’s extensive user base. 

Meanwhile, Nexus is just the first layer of Otherside’s three-tiered design. Eventually, the metaverse will include gameplay zones with quests and the Otherside Development Kit (ODK) for creating and publishing content.
