At its “Delivering the Future” event in San Francisco, Amazon unveiled the smart glasses designed to help delivery personnel deliver packages more securely and efficiently, thus improving the customer delivery experience.

What Will the Amazon Smart Glasses Provide to Delivery Drivers?

After the delivery driver parks their vehicle, the glasses automatically activate and display the correct packages they need to deliver based on the location. The person sees a list of the packages they need to pick up on the screen. The glasses can even tell them if they have selected the right package from the list. Once the driver leaves the vehicle, the glasses provide turn-by-turn navigation to the delivery address, show potential hazards along the way, and offer guidance in locations where the address might be difficult to find.

It was also noted that the glasses will gain future features such as warning the driver if a package is left at the wrong address or alerting them to dangerous elements like a dog in the yard.

Amazon’s smart glasses come with a vest that includes a controller and a dedicated emergency button that drivers can press to call emergency services along their routes. The glasses come with interchangeable batteries for all-day use. They can be fitted with prescription and transition lenses if needed by the driver.

Amazon is currently testing the smart glasses with delivery drivers in North America. While there are rumors that Amazon is working on smart glasses for consumers and even plans to launch them in late 2026 or early 2027, the company did not mention a smart device designed for the end-user.
