Former Tottenham and Atletico Madrid defender Matt Doherty has joined Championship side Sheffield United on a free transfer, after leaving Wolves for the second time.
Doherty made 389 appearances for Wolves across two spells at Molineux, having made his debut for the club in January 2011.
He helped them finish seventh in the Premier League in back-to-back seasons under Nuno Espirito Santo in 2017-18 and 2018-19, before departing for Spurs.
He was with the London club for two-and-a-half seasons and struggled to win regular minutes during a brief spell at Atletico, before returning to Wolves in 2023.
The 34-year-old’s contract expired following Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League last season, and he will face them in the Championship next term after heading to Bramall Lane.

He has signed a one-year deal with the Blades, becoming their second arrival of the summer after completing a loan deal for Brentford’s Romelle Donovan.
Chris Wilder’s side begin their campaign with an EFL Cup first-round tie against Mansfield Town on August 9, before hosting Birmingham City in their Championship opener the following week.
